Our Cooking 101 students have been getting stuck into the kitchen, learning new skills, trying new recipes and, most importantly, enjoying the experience together!
In partnership with Gloucester High School, Cooking 101 is all about building confidence, learning practical skills and creating a welcoming space where everyone can have a go.

With Meals on Wheels Day coming up this week we’re celebrating a service that has been part of our community for more than 50 years — and busting a few myths along the way!
MYTH 3: There is a stigma around receiving Meals on Wheels.
BUSTED! People are now realising that Meals on Wheels is about staying independent, not giving up your independence.
For active people over 65, life can be busy. There are family commitments, appointments, hobbies, volunteering, gardening, social outings and plenty of other things to fit into the day.
Meals on Wheels can be a smart, convenient choice — giving you back time that would otherwise be spent planning, shopping for, preparing and cleaning up after meals.
And you don’t have to sacrifice good nutrition for convenience. Our meals are prepared with nutrition in mind, so you can enjoy a wholesome meal without all the work.

With Meals on Wheels Day coming up next week we’re celebrating a service that has been part of our community for more than 50 years — and busting a few myths along the way!
MYTH 3: “There is no cost to the provider because everything is done by volunteers.”
BUSTED! While our wonderful volunteers are a huge part of what makes Meals on Wheels possible, there is a lot more happening behind the scenes.
Our service employs local people, creating meaningful jobs right here in our community. Employees like Tracey, Sharon and Gail (pictured) play an important role in preparing, coordinating and supporting the Meals on Wheels service.
From the kitchen to the office and out in the community, it takes a team to keep Meals on Wheels running safely, reliably and to the high standard our clients deserve.

MYTH 2: “Meals on Wheels is just frozen meals.”
BUSTED! Our meals are cooked from scratch every day with nutrition, variety and dietary needs in mind.
Our food services team Sharon, Tracey and Gail put a lot of care into planning and prepare appealing menu options and freshly-cooked meals – releasing a new menu every month.
In addition to our freshly cooked meals we do have a menu of convenient and nutritious frozen meals for people to heat and enjoy at their leisure.

We’re incredibly grateful when the people we support take the time to share their experience with our team.
This lovely testimonial is a wonderful reminder of the difference the right support people make, not just through the practical assistance they provide, but by helping people feel comfortable, supported and confident in their own homes.
