🔥BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD BEGINS 1 SEPTEMBER🔥
Hello to our wonderful community of Gloucester and surrounds.
From midnight tonight, 1st of September 2026, the Bushfire Danger Period starts for the Mid Coast area.
After a dry winter and with warmer-than-average conditions forecast for spring, fire risk is increasing across the area.
Now is the time to prepare your homes and property.
- Have a conversation with your family
- Check your bush fire survival plan
- Clear leaves and debris from gutters
- Remove flammable materials from around your home
- Make sure hoses can reach all sides of your property
- Check your property and prepare for increased fire danger

Fire Permits are now required for all burning activities in the Mid Coast area.

Remember:
- Notify your neighbours and local fire authorities at least 24 hours before lighting up
- Check current and forecast weather conditions
- Have adequate firefighting equipment and water available
- Never leave a fire unattended
- Never burn when conditions are unsafe
