Trumpâs Approval Ratings Are Sky-HighâSo Why Do Australians Think Heâs Universally Hated?
Hereâs a challenge for Australian readers: list all the major Aussie news outlets that report positively on Donald Trump.
Your list will likely begin and end with Sky News Australiaâwhich makes up maybe 5% of our media landscape.
That means 95% of the news you consume is conditioning youâwhether subtly or overtlyâto viscerally recoil at the mere mention of Trumpâs name.
This breeds all sorts of faulty assumptions:
â Trump is 95% evil.
â 95% of what I hear about him must be true.
â 95% of Americans secretly hate him too.
But hereâs the reality: none of that is true.
Despite the relentless attacks, the American people are standing by Trump in record numbers.
đ He won every battleground state in November.
đ He picked up 312 electoral votesâfar more than the 270 needed to win.
đ He became the first Republican to win the popular vote in 20 years.
And since taking office, his approval ratings have remained at historic highs.
Even CNNâone of Trumpâs biggest criticsâwas forced to admit:
đŁď¸ âThe American public is more in line with Trump than at any point during his first term.â
A CBS News poll found that:
â
53% of Americans approve of Trumpâs job performance.
â
70% say Trump is doing exactly what he promised.
â
60% support mass deportations of illegal immigrants.
â
63% support his recognition of only two sexes, male and female.
Meanwhile, a Napolitan News Service survey found that Trumpâs job approval has never fallen below 53% since he was electedâhitting as high as 57% during his inauguration week.
These numbers should be shocking to Australians who have been fed a steady diet of anti-Trump narratives.
Instead of admitting they miscalculated, the press is scrambling to explain Trumpâs popularity with tortured headlines like:
đ âWhy Trump remains popular, despite all the chaosâ â Vice
đ âWhy Americans continue to fall for Trump's game of distractionâ â Salon
đ âHow Trump could sn**ch a third termâ â Politico
They canât explain it. But the data can.
Itâs not just approval ratingsâother indicators suggest that Trumpâs policies are resonating:
đ Rasmussen Reports: More Americans now believe the U.S. is on the right track (47%) than the wrong one (46%). Thatâs the first net positive result in 20 years.
đ Gallup: Nearly half of Democrats (45%) say their party needs to become more moderateâa massive 11-point shift since 2021.
đ Morning Consult: Trump ranks as one of the most popular world leadersâbeating out many Western heads of state.
Confronted with these facts, Australians have two choices:
1ď¸âŁ Double down on the media narrative that Trump is evil.
2ď¸âŁ Think for yourself and question why youâve been told to hate him.
If the legacy media is rightâand Trump is the worst leader in historyâthen the better part of 350 million Americans must be either evil or brainwashed.
Funny how we in Australia, 16,000 km away, see it clearer than Americans living through:
đ¨ 11M illegal crossings
âď¸ A weaponised justice system
đ An economy $36T in debt
Here's a more likely scenario: the media has been lying to you.
Remember, this is the same media that...
â Pushed the chemical and surgical castration of children as âgender-affirming care.â
â Covered up Joe Bidenâs cognitive decline.
â Told you COVID-19 coming from a Wuhan lab was a âconspiracy theory.â
â Framed the BLM riots as âmostly peacefulâ but January 6 as an âinsurrection.â
Are you sure youâre getting the full picture?
Before Trump ran for president, he was a media darling.
đş He was a TV star.
đś He was celebrated in hip-hop culture.
đĽ He was a pop-culture icon.
Then he ran as a Republicanâand suddenly he was public enemy number one.
The Australian media, lacking originality, simply parroted the American press.
But if Trump was really as bad as they claim, would they need to work this hard to make you believe it?
Turn off the TV. Cancel the newspaper. Open an X account and see unfiltered news as it happens.
Then, enjoy the experience of being un-brainwashed.
And thank me later. đ
