It's been a quiet couple of weeks for Coastal Mums... mean while behind the scenes mum life continues at full pace!

It's an interesting time for parents getting to grips with the changes around us and new challenges that come with balancing work and home life within the confines of iso... but remember, to that little person/people you are still the most amazing mum, the safe place and the consistency in chaos.
Go easy on your self and give your self time to recharge those super powers.
Mama... you are enough!

Stay at home. Play at home - Problem solving spiders web!

Bonus- you probably have all of these items at home already, and it only takes 5 mins to prepare.

*This can also be done down the passage way for older children. Spy kids in training!

Feel free to get your older children involved by making the web basket. A double activity and every one is entertained! Maybe long enough to have a cuppa while its still hot.

This edible messy play is a great activity to do with a bub, or with toddlers and kindy aged children.

Sensory play, learning basic colours or learning colour mixing.
Bonus points for being 100% edible and taking less than 5mins to prepare.

Another play at home idea... Taste safe dirt!
This activity is great for tactile play for younger bubs, as well as using the imagination for older busy bodies.

Play with different consistencies by slowly adding liquid and embrace different themes or games around your childs interests.

*Top tip: Flour is only considered edible when cooked - but that's easy to solve if you have an "eater" on your hands. Bake the flour on a baking sheet at 180 for 5 mins and then let it cook before using.
Have fun!

Thank you to the wonderful Ashley from the motherhood circle for coming online for a chat today.

Ashley had great insight to empowering your self as a mum, particularly around the choices you make for your little one and your selves regarding the pre and post natal journey.

She also highlighted some great self care techniques during these tough times including Meditating, (Ashley uses the app insight timer - not affiliated). Journaling in any form to free your mind. And also pod casting or listening to audio books about any thing that inspires or interests you.
