TMC Harmony Cup 2026 ⚽️
Another successful TMC Harmony Cup! ⚽️ A great weekend bringing our community together through soccer, connection and a shared love of sport.

A big thank you to Jake Coates, CAMS Officer for Northern Gold Coast, for organising another successful tournament. Each year, the Harmony Cup brings together new faces, different cultures and community members, creating opportunities to connect both on and off the field.

Events like these highlight the importance of creating inclusive spaces where people from all backgrounds can build connections, celebrate diversity and strengthen our local communities.

A big thank you to the TMC staff who supported the event and helped make the day a success. We would also like to thank Goals Australia™️ for welcoming us back and allowing us to use their facilities for another year. We appreciate your ongoing support!

🌐 Get Online Week 2026 | Gold Coast Seniors – Active & Connected 🤖💻

Thriving Multicultural Communities (TMC) was delighted to host our “Gold Coast Seniors – Active & Connected: Using AI in Everyday Life” workshop today, proudly funded by Good Things Australia as part of Get Online Week! 🎉

We welcomed 65 participants from more than 15 countries, bringing together seniors from diverse cultural backgrounds for a day of learning, connection and digital discovery. 🌏❤️

During the workshop, participants explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used in everyday life, including how AI tools can help with finding information, writing, and making everyday tasks easier and more convenient.

It was wonderful to see so many participants engaging with new technology, asking questions and learning together. The workshop was a great opportunity to build digital confidence, share knowledge and help seniors feel more comfortable in an increasingly digital world. ✨

A heartfelt thank you to Good Things Australia for supporting this initiative, and to everyone who joined us and made the workshop such a meaningful and successful event!

Last week, TMC’s Executive Director Anna Zubac and SETS Coordinator Joyce Cho attended the FECCA 2026 National Conference in Canberra, bringing together multicultural leaders, community organisations and policymakers from across Australia.

Under the theme Many Stories, One Future, the conference explored the role of multiculturalism in shaping Australia’s future, with discussions around social cohesion, belonging, cultural inclusion and the contributions of migrant and refugee communities.

Some key takeaways were the importance of ensuring multicultural voices are heard in policy discussions, strengthening connections between community organisations and decision-makers, and continuing to build inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to participate and belong.

The conference was also a valuable opportunity to share experiences, learn from others working across the sector and strengthen connections with people committed to supporting multicultural communities.

Thank you to FECCA and everyone involved in bringing the sector together for these important conversations. We look forward to taking these learnings back into TMC’s work with the communities we support across South East Queensland.

Another busy weekend for TMC’s CAMS Officer for Northern Gold Coast, Jake, who was proud to support the Multicultural Basketball League alongside a range of community partners.

Over two incredible days, the event brought people from diverse cultural backgrounds together through sport, friendship, connection and wellbeing. More than just a basketball tournament, it created opportunities for community members and families to connect, build new relationships and celebrate the diversity that makes our region so vibrant.

Through our Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) Program, TMC was pleased to support this community-led initiative and work alongside NIGHT SHIFT Ballers, whose commitment to creating inclusive opportunities through sport helped make the event such a success.

A special thank you to Coomera Anglican College for providing a welcoming venue for players, supporters and community members to come together, and to the Gold Coast Filipino Cultural Ensemble for sharing their culture and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere across the weekend.

Congratulations to everyone involved, from the organisers and volunteers to the players, families and supporters. Events like these play an important role in strengthening community connections, fostering inclusion and creating a sense of belonging for people from all backgrounds.

As part of TMC’s Project Own It Cervical Screening Gold Coast, we have recorded key messages in Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Thai and Vietnamese to help ensure women can access important cervical screening information in their preferred language.

Our 2026 campaign focuses on supporting women from Afghanistan, Thailand, Vietnam and Arabic-speaking communities to learn more about cervical screening and the choices available to them.

This is TMC’s second campaign supporting the National Cervical Screening Program, building on our commitment to improving health awareness and access across multicultural communities.

The key message from our workshops is simple:

✔ You have choices when it comes to cervical screening.
✔ Ask questions and make informed decisions.
✔ It’s your Cervical Screening Test. OWN IT.
