🏎️ Year 8 IDEAS | Student on Track – Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500! 🏁

Our Year 8 IDEAS students are heading to the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 as part of the Supercars Students on Track program! 🏆

This exciting real-world learning experience connects directly to our current STEM project, where students are exploring aerodynamics, 3D design and engineering as they design and develop their own CO₂ dragsters.

Students will have the opportunity to see professional motorsport in action and observe how engineers use vehicle shape, aerodynamic features and innovative design to improve speed, stability and performance.

From the race track to the classroom, students are discovering how science, technology, engineering and design come together to solve real-world challenges. They can take inspiration from professional racing cars and apply their observations to their own designs and testing.

Real-world experiences. Innovative thinking. Future engineers in the making! 🚀

💙 SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH EXAM STRESS
With external exams approaching, it’s normal for our young people to feel some extra pressure. Stress can look different for everyone, so knowing what to notice and how to respond can make a real difference.
Our School Based Youth Health Nurse, Nurse Katie, has put together some practical advice for parents and carers to help recognise the signs of exam stress and support young people through this busy time.
Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is simply ask:
“What would be most helpful right now?”

Due to predicted weather conditions, the 56th Annual Miami Surf Fest has been postponed to Friday 6 November.

The safety and enjoyment of our students is our priority, and we look forward to making the most of better conditions on our new date!

Get ready for a massive day of surfing, competition, good vibes and Miami Magic! 💙💛

Entries are still open for competitive surfing and bodyboarding divisions for boys and girls, plus our social Whitewater Challenge, which is all about having fun with your mates! Think surfing the foamies, bodyboarding, body surfing and beach games! 🌊

Another outstanding achievement for Miami High's Nash Anderson! 💙💛

Competing at the QRSS Track & Field State Championships over the weekend, Nash stormed to 1st place in the 16 Years Boys 400m, clocking an impressive 49.18 seconds! 🏃‍♂️💨

Despite challenging wet and windy conditions, Nash delivered a fantastic performance to claim the State Championship title!
Congratulations, Nash! Your hard work, determination and talent continue to shine. The Miami High community is incredibly proud of you! 👏🏆
