Last week, our Alexandrina Libraries team was invited to attend Goolwa Primary School’s launch of their new book, ‘Flying High with No:Ri'.

Written by Adele Kenny and illustrated by Stephanie Pitcher, the story of No:ri the pelican encourages children to dream big, keep trying and to care for others. 🤝💭

If you'd like a copy, ‘Flying High with No:Ri' is available for purchase from Goolwa Primary School or for loan at Alexandrina Libraries (coming soon!).

Thank you to Adele, Stephanie and everyone at Goolwa Primary School for such an excellent launch of an inspiring children’s book. 🌟

Visit the Goolwa Library to see some spectacular artwork before it's too late! 👀

Alexandrina Libraries are excited to host a vibrant and meaningful piece of First Nations’ artwork at the Goolwa Library 👏

Created by the talented Kaurna, Narungga and Ngarrindjeri artist, Gabriel Stengle, this artwork symbolises Libraries SA.

The artwork tells a story about:
🔶 The connected journey lines and meeting places represent the many libraries throughout South Australia.
🔶 These are surrounded by many waterholes that represent communities.
🔶 The people symbolise those within the community as well as the many dedicated workers within Libraries SA.
🔶 The blue water lines represent South Australian Rivers, Lakes and Beaches.
🔶 The Kangaroo tracks are a representation of Libraries SA's vision of always moving forward and never back, with the community always at the forefront.

A short walk away from the library is the Yuntulun Ku:li-war exhibition at the Signal Point Experience Centre, where you can immerse yourself in the stories of the Ngarrindjeri First Nations people.

More information about the Yuntulun Ku:li-war exhibition can be found on the SA Tourism Commission’s website https://bit.ly/4uO4bl8
