Don’t forget to drop by the Goomalling Post Office, as there may be mail awaiting collection for you. 📩📮📦
Please note that Goomalling is a “non delivery area” meaning there is no street delivery, so all mail and most parcels need to be collected from the Post Office. Uncollected mail is only held for a few weeks (sometimes only 7 days if the sender specifies) before returning to the sender.
If you would like more certainty and flexibility over your mail and parcels please consider opening up a PO Box - these are heavily subsidised (because Goomalling is a non-delivery area) so the annual cost is only around $56 a year instead of $164….
Leasing a PO Box means…
- 24/7 access to your mail without it being returned to sender
- Free use of our overnight parcel locker in case you can’t get to the Post Office during working hours
- Free (optional) “Mail2Day” email notifications when there has been mail added to your mailbox for collection, saving you a trip to town just to check the mail
- Privacy over your street address
- and helping support your local Licensed Post Office so we can continue to serve our community! 💕
And if you are not new to Goomalling and currently share a PO Box with several other different households/addresses please consider opening up your own PO Box, particularly if you don’t want your parcels collected by others sharing your box (all parcels to a PO Box are sorted and carded together each day).
