Yesterday we joined the community to farewell George Nelson. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

George served the Goondiwindi community as both a QATB ambulance driver and a QAS paramedic. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We send our deepest condolences to Rose, Louise, Steven and their families at this very difficult time.

Rest in peace George.

Registering your property access details with QAS will help paramedics get to you in an emergency where you can't let them in, for example if you've had a fall.

Property access details may include;

โžก๏ธ Key safe or lock box code and location
โžก๏ธBuilding access code
โžก๏ธ Maps or building plans

QAS only store property access details for 12 months at a time. You must fill in a property access form every 12 months to keep your details in the system.

Register yours now via the link.

You could help save lives by registering your automated external defibrillator (AED) with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS).

If your defibrillator is registered, we can tell someone who has called Triple Zero (000) for a suspected cardiac arrest, where the AED is at your business or property. This means they can access defibrillation before paramedics arrive.

Your AED location details will only notify us if the person is at your business or property. It won't generate an alert for calls from nearby businesses or properties.

Register yours now!

Attention all businesses & sporting clubs with Automated External Defibrillators (AED)!

Have you registered your AEDโ€™s with the Queensland Ambulance Service?!

Recently the QAS introduced the ability for external parties to register AEDs on the QAS AED register.

This allows the 000 operators to know the location of AEDโ€™s in the community so the operators can advise callers if there is an AED at their location should it be required.

Only fixed AEDโ€™s can be registered, mobile AEDโ€™s in vehicles are excluded from registration.

Letโ€™s get this started in Goondiwindi and we would encourage all the relevant business owners and sporting club officials to register the relevant details using the link below. AEDโ€™s are an important life saving device and the earlier they can be accessed and utilised, the better chance of survival from a cardiac arrest.
