Richmond Tweed Regional Library

Richmond Tweed Regional Library Richmond Tweed Regional Library services Lismore City, Tweed Shire, Ballina Shire, and Byron Shire. Our Vision
We will support our communities to achieve.

For over 50 years Richmond Tweed Regional Library has had a simple mission; to create an environment where anyone can feel welcome to connect, discover, and escape with knowledge, ideas, and stories. We want to help expand your mind, broaden your horizons, and learn new things. Whether it’s finding a great story to read, accessing computing and online services, or joining a book club or Baby Time

group—we're here to support you and provide free services that make your life better. Richmond Tweed Regional Library covers our four local government areas—Byron Shire, Ballina Shire, Tweed Shire, and Lismore City—with 12 branches and a mobile library which visits our villages and outlying communities. Through your support—and that of our member councils—we’ve grown to become one of the largest regional library services in NSW, providing access to knowledge and information to more than 200,000 residents. Situated throughout the Northern Rivers, our branches celebrate our unique region, its beautiful beaches, ancient rainforests, colourful community, and progressive ideals. Our goal is to occupy a central place in community life and to help our diverse region’s members access the support, services, and technology they need to fulfill their learning and life goals. We invite you to visit our welcoming and flexible community libraries—both real and virtual—to connect, discover, escape. Our Mission
Create an environment where anyone can feel welcome to connect, discover, and escape with knowledge, ideas, and stories. Our Values
Show mutual respect, strive to do our best, love doing what we do, communicate, connect, listen, and learn. The RTRL Acknowledgement of Country
Members and Elders of the Bundjalung Nation have been custodians of this Aboriginal land for many centuries. They have lived in, and derived their physical and spiritual needs from the forests, rivers, lakes, and streams of this beautiful region. Here, Bundjalung people have performed age-old ceremonies of celebration, initiation, and renewal. We acknowledge our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community’s living culture, their unique role, and invaluable contribution to life in our region. We pay respect to Elders—past, present, and emerging.
