Yesterday, two members from Gordonvale SES were deployed to Cardwell to assist the community following heavy rainfall.

The deployment was in response to significant rainfall. Our volunteers are working alongside local SES crews to support the community where needed. Their efforts are focused on helping ensure community safety and assisting with tasks.

Just letting everyone I'm know that we took care of all of the jobs. Allocated to Gordonvale and have just sent 2 flood boat operators to Ingham to help with water rescues.
Please remember that there is plenty of sand and bags at the SES headquarters and Infront of the council depot. Everyone please stay safe 🤗

The storm season is now upon us and the Gordonvale SES unit encourages all residents to prepare your properties. Yards should be tidied up, drains cleared and gutters cleaned. We also suggest you make up an emergency kit and ensure that your gas bottle is full.
Also sandbags are available behind the SES headquarters in Simmonds Street. Just bring a spade and fill your own.please fill an extra bag and leave it next to the pit for those who need assistance. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
