What a wonderful day we all had visiting the Cosmodome (mobile planetarium). Every grade had a chance to visit, learning all about the planets, seasons, Aboriginal and Greek mythology of the constellations and of course, what to see in the night sky tonight.

100 Days Smarter…and apparently 100 Years Older!

Our junior students celebrated 100 Days of School in style earlier this term, turning up looking like they had skipped straight past primary school and into retirement.

Grey hair, glasses, walking sticks and some very convincing old-person shuffling made for a great day.

Happy 100 Days to our littlest legends!

What a way to end the first week back of term!

Enrichment ‘Fun’ Fridays are back in full swing, with students starting their new groups this afternoon.

Our cooking group made delicious chocolate balls and even enjoyed the clean up!

GDPS has had a busy term in the Art room. We based our art pieces on our Core Learning topic of Fairy Tales and Fables.
Grade Prep/1 learnt about primary and secondary colours and had lots of fun mixing colours. We also worked on our scissor skills with lots of cutting practice.
Grade 2/3 worked on some textile pieces. Learning how to thread a needle and produce a running stitch. For these classes, We sat in a sewing circle like people did in the olden days (not the 1990’s like suggested by one student).
Grade 4/5/6 used plaster bandages and jars to create a fairy tale house or creation. These continue to be a work in progress to be completed next term.
Examples of our art pieces are often displayed in the main school hall way so don’t forget to pop in and have a look at the great work produced by our school.

Another incredible visit from Matt and his team at Mindfull Aus!

Back at Gormandale Primary for the second year running, with the whole school cohort!

We worked through above and below line choices and dove into what respect actually is and how we can embody that with our "tip top" choices.

These kids got it straight away. Tip top choices, every single one which brought a plethora of fun and laughs!

Gormandale, you're an absolute pleasure to work with.

And a big thanks to AGL for backing schools across their catchment areas. Programs like this don't happen without support like that.
