Happy International Day for Biological Diversity! 🌏🌿🐝🦋🌼🦎

From the tiniest insects to our tallest trees, biodiversity is what keeps our planet healthy and thriving. But around the world, plants and animals are disappearing faster than ever before. While this is a big global challenge, there is also so much we can do right here in our own communities.

Many local councils across Australia offer free or discounted native trees, verge planting programs and rebates for water‑wise or native gardens. Planting natives in your garden or on your verge helps create habitat, supports pollinators and brings nature back into our cities and suburbs. Protecting special places like rivers, lakes, bushland and National Parks also makes a real difference.

At Switch Your Thinking, we believe that meaningful change happens when people feel empowered to act. Protecting biodiversity is not just about global goals. It is about the everyday choices we make that help create healthier, more liveable places for everyone.

Our Energy Efficiency Pilot Program proved that with the right tools and support, small changes can lead to a big impact 💡

✔️ 139 energy audit kits rolled out across WA
✔️ 1,200+ community loans
✔️ Households taking real steps to reduce energy use and costs

To wrap things up, we also awarded two $2,000 energy‑efficient prize packs 👏
Congratulations to our first winner in the City of Gosnells, who upgraded to a heat pump dryer and front‑load washer, and second winner in the City of Bayswater, who chose a new energy‑efficient fridge 🎉
