We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up for Book Week on Friday 28 August! 🎉📖

Why do we celebrate Book Week?
Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading, books and storytelling. It encourages our students to discover new stories, use their imagination and develop a lifelong love of reading. Most importantly, it’s a chance for our school community to come together and celebrate just how much fun books can be!

🎭 What to wear:
Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character or in a favourite costume.

📚 Book Week Parade
📍 The Hall
⏰ 9:00 am

Students should follow their usual morning routine when arriving at school.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families are warmly invited to attend the parade at 9:00am!

We’re so excited to invite families to come and watch our Year 5/6 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream next Friday 21 August at 6:00pm! 🌟

The students have been working so hard and are SO excited to share their performance with you. It’s sure to be a fantastic night full of fun, laughter and plenty of Shakespearean magic!

🎟️ Tickets are selling quickly, but there are still plenty available! Make sure you grab yours through the QKR! app before they’re gone.

Today on Principal’s Day, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Mr Carlson for everything he does for our Waraburra State School community.

Mr Carlson’s leadership, care and commitment make a real difference in the lives of our students, staff and families every day. We are grateful for the time, energy and support he gives to our school, and for the positive and welcoming environment he helps create.

Today, our Prep students had an exciting visit from the Fire and Rescue team as part of their learning about different careers in our community! 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

The children enjoyed learning about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. They were reminded about essential fire safety tips, had the opportunity to explore the fire truck, and even got to have a turn using the fire hoses!

It was a fun, hands-on experience that sparked lots of curiosity and excitement while helping our students learn about the many ways people serve and support our community.

A big thank you to the Fire and Rescue team for taking the time to visit our school and inspire our young learners. We truly appreciate your support and the important work you do every day! ❤️🚒
