Rain ☔️ hail or shine ☀️ we are getting these push ups done 💪 With wet weather outside, we moved indoors & some enthusiastic Year 1s joined in. Miss Ternes joined in too, but there’s no photographic evidence 🤔

Mr Simo has signed up our school to The Push-Up Challenge! 💪
Over the next 24 days Mr Simo is inviting students & staff to join him in pumping out 50 pushups 🥵 at the start of each lunchtime. He promises to do the other push ups later in the day 🤫. He needs to reach 3,307 push ups by June 26 😳
The challenge officially begins on Wednesday but we started today to get ahead of the game. So many students demonstrating the personal best 👏👏
We encourage students to donate a gold coin during the challenge to the front office to raise 💰 for Lifeline & Headspace who provide mental health support 🙌
Let’s do this together 🤝

During our Year 5/6 parliamentary incursion, students learnt about the roles of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council and explored how a bill is passed through Parliament. Students also participated in an engaging role play, where they worked together to debate and pass a bill through both houses. A great real life learning opportunity!

This week all students were immersed in Mana: The Spirit of Polynesia - an inspiring cultural performance presented by Bernard Mangakahia.

Through storytelling and dance 🕺, Bernard shared his family history and explored the rich cultures of the Pacific Islands 🏝️.

Our students were engaged through dance, music 🎶 , and multicultural themes, while highlighting history, geography 🗺️, and the importance of understanding one’s heritage.

Mana celebrates self-belief, respect, and the power of cultural identity. Thank you Bernard for visiting GPS! 🙌
