๐Ÿ› The Very Hungry Caterpillar โ€“ Culinary Experience with Chef Nino ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ

Our Nursery children enjoyed a special culinary session with Chef Nino inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

They explored a variety of fresh fruits linked to the story, using their senses to taste, smell and talk about what they discovered! There was lots of curiosity, brave tasting and shared excitement as the story came to life through food ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅญ๐Ÿ‡

Thank you Chef Nino for such a fun and engaging learning experience ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŽ€ WE'RE GOING PINK THIS JUNE! ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ’—

This June, our centre is proudly going pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness! Throughout the month, you may spot a few surprise educators joining Miss Catherine with some fabulous pink hair. Keep your eyes peeled as more pink pops up around the centre! ๐Ÿ‘€

Our biggest celebration will take place on Thursday, 25th June, when we host a full-day PINK OUT DAY! We encourage all children and families to go absolutely wild with their pink outfits. Think pink tutus, pink hair, pink socks, pink sunglasses, pink face paint โ€“ the brighter and more creative, the better! ๐ŸŒธ

We can't wait to fill the centre with pink, laughter, and community spirit as we come together to support a cause close to so many hearts. ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

Our children explored how we can help care for our oceans through a hands-on sensory experience. Working together, they sorted compost and recycling materials from our โ€œoceanโ€, helping to protect the marine animals that call it home.

Through play, conversation and discovery, the children developed an understanding that even small actions can make a big difference. By reducing waste, recycling correctly and caring for our environment, we can all play a part in keeping our oceans healthy for future generations.

World Ocean Day reminds us that every piece of rubbish removed, every item recycled and every mindful choice matters. Together, we can help protect the beautiful oceans, waterways and marine life that connect us all. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ ๐Ÿข

The children were excited to explore our rain drums, creating rhythms, beats and sounds inspired by the world around them. As the children decided to use bamboo sticks to drum, they discovered how different movements created different sounds, encouraging creativity, coordination and self-expression.

There was plenty of laughter, curiosity and collaboration as the children worked together to make their own musical masterpieces!

Our team recently came together for a Growing Together workshop with our National Wellbeing Partner Trina, focusing on strengthening communication, reflection and the habits that support a thriving workplace culture.

Through honest conversation and shared reflection, we explored how we show up for one another, how we communicate, and how we can continue to grow as a connected and supportive team. It was a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect and recommit to working in ways that strengthen both individual wellbeing and collective practice.

We are grateful for the space to learn, grow and continue building a positive and reflective team culture together. ๐ŸŒฟ

Our children have been busy setting up our worm farm and moving worms into their new home, and they absolutely loved it! There were lots of giggles, curious faces and brave hands as children gently held the wriggly worms and explored them up close.

This hands-on experience sparked so much curiosity as children learned how worms help break down food scraps and support our garden to grow. It was a beautiful moment of connection with nature, care for living things and teamwork as we built our sustainability practices together. ๐Ÿชด

Using their imaginations, the children designed and drew their very own fish to โ€œadd to the fishtankโ€.

Through this experience, the children explored creativity, self-expression and a sense of belonging as they contributed their special creations to our shared fishtank display. We loved hearing the stories behind each fish and watching the children proudly add them into their underwater world together. ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŸ

Following conversations about healthy foods and โ€œsometimes foodsโ€, our Kindy 2 children explored how we could create something delicious using chocolate in a balanced way. Together, children collaborated to make banana chocolate chip muffins, mashing, mixing and sharing ideas throughout the experience.

Cooking experiences like these support children to build confidence, connect with others and develop positive understandings around food, wellbeing and balance.

National Reconciliation Week provides an opportunity for us to pause, reflect and continue the journey we have been walking together as a service. Reconciliation is not a single moment or experience, but an ongoing commitment to listen more deeply, learn more openly and do more meaningfully as we grow alongside children, families and community.

This week, our Kindy 1 team supported our service in creating spaces for reflection, connection and conversation inspired by the Sea of Hearts movement led by Connecting the Dots through Culture. Families, children and educators contributed to beautiful Sea of Hearts displays throughout our rooms and outdoor walkway, symbolising unity, belonging and hope for the future we are creating together.

We are grateful to continue walking alongside our community on this journey, holding space for reflection, learning and action as we remain All In for reconciliation. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

Last week, our community came together for Australiaโ€™s Biggest Morning Tea โ˜•๐Ÿ’›

Through the kindness and generosity of our families, children and team, we were proud to raise $161 in support of the Cancer Council. From sharing delicious treats to spending time together as a community, it was a meaningful opportunity to connect while supporting an important cause.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, donated and helped make the morning so special. Every little bit makes a difference! ๐ŸŒผ
