Tonight our Vertical Rescue Operators took on the 50 metre ascent as part of their Fit for Role assessment. This evolution tested strength, endurance, technique, and mental resilience while operating at height under demanding conditions.

We’re proud to say that every Operator successfully completed the ascent and met the required standard. Training like this ensures our team remains operationally ready and prepared to respond safely and effectively in challenging vertical rescue environments.

A great effort by all involved and a strong display of teamwork, professionalism, and determination throughout the night. Well done team 👏🚒🧗

Yesterday, our members assistedFire and Rescue NSW Station 311 Griffith at their Open Day by cooking the BBQ. It was a great opportunity to support the local community, work alongside emergency services personnel, and contribute to a successful day enjoyed by all. We thank them for the invitation and look forward to continuing our strong community partnership.

It’s Fit for Role Month in the NSW SES Griffith Unit🥾🧡

Our volunteers are currently putting their strength and stamina to the test.

From lifting sandbags to hauling tarps onto roofs and climbing ladders, these activities simulate the real-life tasks we face during emergencies. ⛰️🌊

Each member is assessed to ensure they meet the national physical standards required to keep themselves and the community safe. A huge shoutout to our team for stepping up! 🪜🔧🪢

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident off Ballina Bar overnigt.
Not only the loss of life from Marine Rescue NSW, but also the loss of life from the vessel they were responding to.
This sort of incident is a reminder of what the 000 Community often face every time they answer a call for help, and frequently in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.
We extend our sincere condolences to the families, friends, and fellow members of Marine Rescue NSW, as well as all those affected by this tragedy.
Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.💙💙

This afternoon NSW SES Griffith Unit were responded to a cow floating in a canal. These rescues require lots of people power.

When we arrived it was a calf in the canal that had been swimming for a while. Using our large animal rescue skills and the Hanwood RFS members, we were able to get the calf out and walked it back to a paddock with the help of a neighbour.

Thank you to the member of the public who called it in,the neighbour for your assistance and to NSW RFS - Hanwood Brigade, NSW SES Leeton Unit, Leeton Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW and the RFS Brigades from NSW Rural Fire Service - MIA District.
