Specialising in wombat rescue of injured/orphaned, cruelty cases or illegal pet wombats. Ultimate goal, to release wombats back into the bush where they belong, in a balanced and responsible way for wombats, balance in nature and the environment, while considering current hardships for wombats, etc. Wombats are on one path right now, towards critical. 80% of the wild population is affected in some

way by sarcoptic mange/illegal shooting/loss of habitat. The road ahead, long term as we see it is to work with the 20% remaining population to endure to release the strongest wombats we can back into nature (with the necessary skills to survive and not by weight). If not, it is not rehabilitation but simply putting them out to a prolonged death. The sanctuary works in the best interest of the animals first and foremost.

Our Story

We specialise in wombat rescue and rehabilitate any injured/orphaned /cruelty cases or illegal pet wombats. Our ultimate goal, to release them back into the bush where they belong. Please note all this work is volunteer work. This page is to educate and give people an insight into what we deal with, what wombats endure in Australia, etc. Sometimes this is good, sometimes ugly and if it is ignored, we highlight that for you too.
