🏃🏃‍♀️Come and Join us in the Brighton Beachside Dash! 🏃🏃‍♀️
When: Sunday, 13th September 2026 - THIS WEEKEND!
Time: 10:20am
Where: Depena Reserve, Dolls Point
Distance: 2km Dash Schools Cup Challenge- Primary
Cost: $15 per student
Who: This opportunity is open to all GBPS students.
Wear: Your Gymea Bay sports shirt and any shorts that you feel comfortable running in.

*Ensure you register in the ‘2km Dash & Primary School Cup Challenge’ and select Gymea Bay Public School from the drop down menu.
Please note that teachers will be present on the day, however, parents will hold the responsibility for ensuring their child’s safety and well-being throughout the event.
How we WIN!!!
The School Cup Challenge is awarded to the school with the fastest combined time of its three quickest runners. The winning school receives the perpetual School Cup Challenge trophy and a $500 cash prize.
There are also individual age group awards for:
Under 7 Boys
Under 7 Girls
8–9 Boys
8–9 Girls
10–12 Boys
10–12 Girls
Every participant who completes the race will receive a medal at the finish line. 🏅

🎬🔵🔵⭐ Film By the Sea Festival - 1L🎬🔵🔵⭐

1L have been working hard to produce a multimodal text for one of their literacy units. We studied the text Amy & Louis, Mr Huff and Sally Murphy’s Tiny Poems. We investigated Sally’s poem structure and wrote our own poems about clouds then illustrated our own cloud photos. We then made the images come to life in a short film. The film will be entered into the Film By the Sea festival

🔵🟢 Gymea Bay Public School has been enthusiastically participating in Literacy and Numeracy Week activities.

One highlight was expanding on the simple sentence, “The dog ran.” Take a look at the creative sentences some of our classes developed! 🔵🟢

We invite you to share your thoughts - comment on which class's sentence is your favourite and tell us why. Using Canva, our students generated imaginative images to accompany their descriptive sentences.

💙💚💙💚 Thank you to our wonderful P&C for organising a fantastic Father’s Day Breakfast and Stall today.

The students loved having their families join for Breakfast and selecting special gifts for their dads and special people throughout the day.

We really appreciate you volunteering your time as well as all the effort and care you put into making the day so special for our students and their families. 💙💚💙💚
