Year 1 Big Night In

The fun doesn’t stop at Gympie East!

This afternoon once everyone had gone home, the Year 1’s changed out of their uniform, into their play clothes and got to work… playing!

There were scavenger hunts, mud pits, loose parts play, pizza and ice cream eating and movie watching.

These Year 1’s have had a ball!

Year 3 & 4 Camp – Night Adventures & Final Morning!

What an adventure it has been for our Year 3 and 4 campers!

After a huge first day, the excitement continued into the evening with some night-time adventures. Armed with plenty of enthusiasm (and somehow still plenty of energy! 😄), students enjoyed experiencing camp after dark and making even more memories with their friends.

This morning, our campers were up and ready to make the most of their second and final day. There were plenty more smiles, laughs, challenges and opportunities to work together before it was time to start wrapping up a fantastic camp.

A huge thank you to our staff and helpers who made the camp possible, and well done to our Year 3 and 4 students for embracing every experience with such enthusiasm!

We think there might be a few tired campers heading home today!

Year 3 & 4 Camp Adventures!

Our Year 3 and 4 campers have arrived full of excitement, enthusiasm and plenty of energy!

Students have jumped straight into their camp adventures, taking part in creek exploration and putting their skills to the test with some exciting survival activities.

There have already been plenty of smiles, teamwork and new experiences as students challenge themselves, explore the outdoors and make some fantastic memories with their friends.
And judging by the energy levels so far… we’re not sure who will be more tired by the end of camp, the students or the teachers!

We can’t wait to see what the rest of camp brings!

Last week, Gympie East came alive with the magic of books as we celebrated Children’s Book Week 2026!

It was a fantastic week filled with stories, imagination and plenty of excitement. From our visit from the Gympie Library, to the wonderful storytelling and music of Valanga Khoza, and of course our much-loved Book Week Parade, there was so much to enjoy!

A huge thank you to our staff, families and special visitors who helped make the week such a success. And a special shout-out to our students who embraced the week with enthusiasm, especially those who dressed up as their favourite book characters for our parade!

At Gympie East, we love any opportunity to celebrate reading and the places a great book can take us. Book Week may be over for another year, but we hope the love of reading continues every day!
