The Gympie Library is the central branch, located on Mellor Street near the main shopping district of Mary Street, Gympie. The Gympie Library is responsible for the purchasing, processing of collections and coordination of services for Gympie Regional Libraries. Serving the population of the Gympie Region, plus visitors from nearby shires and travellers from around the world, this modern library provides access to the latest technology and friendly, professional staff who offer a range of programs and access to resources to suit all members. Aptly named after the incredible natural transformation of flamingos, whose iconic bright pink develops over time because of their choices, Robin Bailey’s memoir is an incredibly honest tale of transformation, hope and healing in the aftermath of tragic grief lived in the public eye. Australian radio and television personality Robin Bailey is one of Australia’s longest serving female voices on commercial radio. Yet as her career flourished, her world fell apart when Tony, the father of their three boys, completed su***de when their children were aged only 10, 12 and 14. When years later she found love again, her beloved husband Sean died of liver cancer 11 months after their marriage. However, Robin's story is not one of tragedy-it is one of resilience. As the women in her family have taught her, Robin believes in not just surviving, but thriving.

Join Nicholas from ECOllaboration for an informative and inspiring talk on creating bird-friendly gardens. Discover simple ways to attract more feathered visitors by adding the right plants, feeders, and water sources to your outdoor space.

Nicholas will also explore how technology is changing the birding world, highlighting useful apps and tools that can help you identify, record, and enjoy local birdlife. Citizen science plays a huge role in bird conservation, but getting started can sometimes feel overwhelming. Nicholas will guide you through a selection of easy-to-use apps that make participating in projects like the Great Aussie Bird Count both fun and rewarding.
