Hamilton Fire Brigade The Hamilton Fire Brigade is a 100% volunteer Fire Brigade that is part of the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

It services the township of Hamilton and its surrounding communities. The station in Cox St houses our 4 firefighting appliances: Hamilton Pumper, Hamilton Pumper/Tanker, Hamilton Hazmat and Hamilton Forward Command Vehicle. Our Brigade performs many different roles which include fire prevention / suppression, community awareness, Fire Safe Kids, fundraising, ongoing training and upskilling of members and attendance at public events.

Last night our Hamilton Fire Brigade members were back at training, putting their skills to the test across Breathing Apparatus (BA), search and rescue, and first aid. 🚒🔥

Regular training is an important part of being prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community needs us.

Sam has been taking part in the Melbourne Stair Climb for the past 4 years, supporting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and their incredible cancer research.

Cancer research is something that is very close to Sam’s heart, and he’s proud to once again take on the challenge and help raise much-needed funds and awareness.

As the colder months continue, it’s important to make sure your fireplace and flue are clean and safe before lighting that next fire.

Creosote and soot can build up inside your flue over time, increasing the risk of a chimney or house fire.

🧹 Have your flue inspected and cleaned regularly
🔥 Only burn dry, seasoned firewood
🏠 Check for damage or signs of wear
🚨 Make sure your smoke alarms are working

This will be Brandon’s 5th year doing the stair climb! He’s motivated to keep taking part because, with work and volunteering, looking after his mental health and wellbeing is really important to him. He needs to be in a good place mentally to be able to do both roles well, and knowing how much the stair climb supports mental health services makes it even more meaningful to him.

For Blake, this will be his 9th year taking on the Stair Climb Challenge, and it’s something that means a lot to him.

What motivates Blake is being able to take part in something that raises vital funds and awareness for organisations that support so many Australians, while giving hope to those who need it most.

He holds this challenge and the causes it supports close to his heart. He’s witnessed family and friends firsthand battle cancer and mental health challenges — sadly losing some of those battles, but also seeing others come out the other side and win their fight.

For Blake, every step of the climb represents something bigger. By taking on the challenge and helping raise vital funds, he knows he’s playing a small part in making a difference and bringing hope to someone who needs it most.

💛🔥 They’re taking on the challenge… one step at a time! 🔥💛

This September, four dedicated members of the Hamilton CFA will be tackling the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb, pushing themselves to climb 28 floors in full firefighting gear to raise awareness and funds for Lifeline, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and 000Foundation

This incredible event is a true test of strength, determination, and resilience, and we’re so proud of our members for stepping up to represent our brigade and our community.

If you see them training over the coming weeks, be sure to give them a wave or some words of encouragement! We’ll also share details soon on how you can support their fundraising efforts.
