RUOK Day reminds us that a simple conversation can change a life.
Today, I encourage everyone across the City of Onkaparinga to check in with a friend, neighbour, colleague, or family member. A genuine “Are you OK?” can open the door to support, connection, and hope.

If you notice someone struggling, take a moment to listen, encourage action, and follow up. Small steps make a real difference in our community.

It was a great pleasure to represent Moira Were Mayor City of Onkaparinga and the City of Onkaparinga and open the 19th National N Scale Covention at the beautiful Hopgood Theatre

This year’s Convention has brought together 94 attendees, including local, interstate and overseas visitors, dedicated traders, and passionate model railway hobbyists—along with partners who are enjoying activities across our region. A special welcome to the attendee who has travelled all the way from the United States to be part of the event.

My thanks go to Convenor Rodney Bates, Committee Co‑ordinator Carol Van Der Wijngaart, and the organising team for their hard work in bringing this Convention to our City. The displays in the foyer are outstanding, and it was great to meet participants and explore the exhibits.

Over the next two days, attendees will take part in clinics, skill‑building sessions, and social events—including tomorrow night’s dinner at St Francis Winery Reynella

I wish everyone a rewarding, enjoyable and memorable Convention.
