Please be so mindful of understanding any activities outside that may spark a fire. It is so dry and hot that it doesn’t take much for a fire to start and threaten life and property quickly.

If you start a fire, you may be found liable for any damages. Please don’t be the fire risk in your community.

Today, AFAC News released the Bushfire Seasonal Outlook for Summer. Northern and Central parts of NSW are carrying high grass fuel loads and are entering summer drier than normal, with no clear indication of increased rainfall to ease conditions.

These areas are likely to face an increased risk of fast-moving, intense grass and forest fires. In central and southern NSW, ongoing dry conditions on the western slopes of the ranges have led to significant underlying dryness in some forested areas. If rain continues to miss these areas, the risk of difficult-to-control fires will increase through summer.

If you live, work, or travel through bush fire-prone areas, ensure you are prepared. Review and discuss your bush fire survival plan so you know what to do if threatened by fires.

βœ… A Total Fire Ban helps limit the potential of fires developing. 🀞🀞🀞

🚫 During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.
🚫 General purpose hot works (such as welding, grinding or gas cutting or any activity that produces a spark or flame) are not to be done in the open.

The NSW RFS strongly recommends you reconsider activities such as such using a tractor or slashing, to help reduce the chance of a fire starting on your property.

βœ… Electric and gas barbeques can be used but rules apply.

🚫 Barbeques that use solid fuel like charcoal, heat beads or wood cannot be used.

Visit our website for all the Total Fire Ban rules:
https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans/total-fire-ban-rules

Thanks for helping to keep our community safe by following the rules πŸ™

Firefighters with the assistance of aircraft and heavy plant have done an incredible job of implementing a containment strategy around this fire.
Predicted weather tomorrow is a concern and will put pressure on these containment lines. If these close containment lines do not hold, fall back strategies are in place.
There is still no immediate danger but residents to the east of this fire should stay up to date in case the situation changes.

Everyone should prepare for the event of a bush fire:
βœ… Have a bush fire survival plan
βœ… Know your risk and stay up to date
βœ… Prepare your home and your family
