Help your community, help yourself.

It’s easy to see how volunteering benefits Heathcote, but the personal rewards are just as big.

Joining VICSES is one of the best ways to build local friendships, learn life-saving skills, and find a true sense of belonging.

The new shared CFA & SES building has officially begun construction!

This page is here to keep those interested up to date on what's planned and any progress as it happens.

All of our SES & CFA volunteers are very excited and we hope you are too! Its a great improvement for our community.

The building will have separate motor bays, offices and change rooms for each service plus some shared areas like kitchen and training room.

We're told that construction will be completed by August 2027 and we're expecting to have moved in by Christmas 2027 once all our radios and computer equipment are installed, and any defects are fixed.

If you weren't already aware, the building will be in Herriot St opposite the dog park. This is a concept picture of what the facility will look like once its finished.

We're calling it the HESH - the Heathcote Emergency Services Hub

Saturday night was an incredible celebration of community, creativity and a whole lot of musical memories. I want to take a moment to thank the people who made 'Quiztriviganza 2' possible — not only this year, but for the two years we’ve run it.

To the Heathcote Golf Club, thank you for supporting us over the past two years and giving us the perfect home for this wonderfully crazy night and to the club’s staff who worked tirelessly behind the bar keeping everyone hydrated.

A huge thank you to our wine sponsors for this year: Silver Spoon Estate, Rogues Lane Vineyard, Devil's Cave Vineyard , Condie Estate, M. Chapoutier Wines, and Paul Osicka Wines. Your generosity helps us raise vital funds and strengthens our connection to this amazing community.

And most importantly, to The Community Bank Heathcote & District, your commitment to matching every dollar we raise, not just on nights like Saturday but throughout our entire two year fundraising campaign, has doubled our impact and made a real difference to what our Unit can achieve. Your support is extraordinary.

Our fabulous musicians — 'Larsen Young', Amy Larsen, and Peter Young, your talent lifts us every time you play. You set the tone, kept the energy high, and made this event truly unique with your live performance.

And finally, our 'Quiztriviganza Trivia Meisters', Margie and Neil, thank you for accepting the challenge and setting the quiz with your brand of local and broader knowledge and keeping the night moving along with humour, patience and that special brand of organised mischief only you two can deliver.

Thank you to the folks who donated by buying a 'Rescue Me Card', to buy a much needed answer which I hoped kept you in touch with the leaderboard, and for the for the donations we received via our special Give Now QR code. It’s still open for the moment.

Ooops! and I almost forgot to thank the Heathcote Film Festival for the use of their audio visual equipment which made such a huge addition to the night and hosting the whole shebang on their you-beaut big screen.

And thanks must also go to The Heathcote Winegrowers' Association for their generous donation of tickets for the members of the winning team to the Heathcote Wine & Food Festival in October.

It really does take a village.

Finally,

We have some bags of wine left over from Saturday night that I forgot to mention we’re selling off for $200 per mixed bag of wine. If you’d like to purchase one (or two) DM Deb Williams directly.

Thank you all for coming out and supporting the Heathcote SES, and for making Quiztriviganza 2, 'The Return of the Riffs', such a brilliant success.
