Planning an event that showcases the Fraser Coast or wider Queensland region?

Previously known as the Queensland Destination Events Program, 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 has supported more than 1,000 events with more than $25 million in funding. The program has recently been refreshed to align with the Queensland Government's Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland's Tourism Future 20-year vision and will create even more opportunities for events to grow and thrive.

Round 2 opened on 27 August 2026 for events scheduled between April 2027 and June 2028. Applications close 6 October 2026. Be sure to review the funding guidelines before applying.

Events play a key role in fostering regional tourism and economic development. Tourism is the lifeblood of many rural and regional communities, ensuring economic stability and positive social outcomes. • finalising line marking for internal roads and footpaths
• landscaping activity including laying grass and mulch
• commissioning works for specialist equipment
• removal of temporary site offices and structures via the Bruce Highway entrance.

Standard construction hours: 6.30am – 6.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
Manufacturing activities are now underway and will operate under two shifts Monday to Saturday:
o Day shift: 6am – 2.30pm
o Afternoon shift (if required): 2-10pm, with reduced crew numbers.

This invitation to offer is in separable portions. The Principal may only award any portion depending on funding availability. The Principal requires the tenderer to price all portions or part portions and also provide a discount if awarded more than one (1) portion in one process.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀
Property owners or property managers acting on behalf of owners, are now responsible for obtaining the necessary approvals for sites that discharge trade waste into Council's sewer network, in line with new statewide requirements.

Trade waste includes liquid waste generated through commercial, industrial or business activities. To support the rollout of the new system, Council will begin issuing trade waste application requests to affected properties where approvals are required.

These changes are designed to help protect the Fraser Coast's sewer infrastructure, support sustainable wastewater management and ensure businesses meet their environmental responsibilities.

Businesses and property owners are encouraged to review the new requirements and confirm whether their operations may be affected. Council's Trade Waste Team can provide guidance on approvals, responsibilities and the application process.
