A Broom-tiful Day at the Theatre!

The sun was shining bright for Kindergarten to enjoy a day out at Griffith City Park and Regional Theatre, watching ‘Room on the Broom’ adapted from the award winning picture book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler. The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand.

Measurement In Motion 📏🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️

Year 5 have been leaping into learning with a hands-on maths activity all about measurement!
Students estimated lengths and distances and then tested their guesses with long jump.
They accurately measured their jumps and recorded their results with decimal notation.

MoTU Entertainment Production Training

This week, secondary were offered the exciting opportunity to work with MoTU Entertainment, developing the skills needed to bring a production to life. Students gained hands-on experience across stage management, audio, lighting and video, learning about the teamwork, organisation and technical expertise that happens behind the scenes.

Their training culminated in a performance today, where students were able to showcase their new skills while supporting preparations for our upcoming school musical, Mary Poppins Jr.

Tickets for Mary Poppins Jr. are now on sale at the front office.

STEM Takes Flight! ✈️🚁

Our Year 6/7 STEM class has been investigating aerodynamics with our specialist high school teachers. From testing cupcake holders and designing paper aeroplanes to exploring flight with a drone and designing and building their own balsa wood aircraft, students investigated how design and forces affect movement while collecting and analysing real data. Hands-on learning and a smooth transition to high school. Just one of the many benefits of being a central school!
