70% of rough sleepers in Australia have a history of state care.

For many young people leaving care, turning 18 doesn't mean they're ready to face adulthood alone.

Without the support networks most of us rely on, too many find themselves at risk of homelessness, isolation, and hardship.

At AnglicareSA, our Post Care Services help bridge that gap, providing safe accommodation and ongoing support to young people as they navigate life after care.

Donate by 30 June to help ensure vulnerable young South Australians have a safe and warm place to call home this winter.

As part of National Reconciliation Week last week and our commitment to building a more united and respectful nation, Anglicare SA and Believe Housing Australia showcased some First Nations short films through the Nunga Screen program across our different sites 🌿

Alongside a delicious spread of native-inspired snacks and refreshments, employees reflected on what they learned through the film and how these insights shape the way we deliver services within our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in facilitating Nunga Screen sessions across our sites and for creating space for these important conversations and reflections 😊

Dear you, what if the work you chose ended up shaping you too?

We asked three AnglicareSA team members to write a letter to their younger selves about the moments that shaped them, the paths they never expected, and the place they finally found where they belonged.

Abby. Michael. Jess.

Three stories. Three different journeys. One reflection.

So many lives. So many ways. One you: https://bit.ly/3S3goU2

In honour of National Reconciliation Week last week, our residential aged care homes embraced opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate First Nations cultures 🖤💛❤️

At Elizabeth East, residents were honoured to hear from Alice, a Ngarrindjeri Elder, who shared stories of her life, family, and experiences as an Aboriginal woman, providing a valuable opportunity for learning and reflection.

A highlight for many residents at Trott Park was a Bush Tucker Afternoon Tea, where they explored native foods, sampled bush tucker from across Australia, and created "I'm In" badges inspired by this year's theme.

With "All In" as this year's theme, National Reconciliation Week encourages us all to keep learning, listening, and finding meaningful ways to connect with and celebrate First Nations cultures.

Our Daphne Street Childcare and Early Learning Centre is officially a Flying Start partner service 🎉

We are excited to be partnering with the South Australian government to deliver Flying Start, a 3-year-old preschool program designed to strengthen the quality and equity of early learning for all children 😊

Focused on age-appropriate, play-based learning the program will be led by a qualified early childhood teacher.

The program follows the Early Years Learning Framework and is designed to strengthen children’s development.

As a partner service, we have access to more support and training for our teachers and educators, and extra help for the children and families where it’s needed most.

You can learn more about the program by watching this explainer video: https://youtu.be/SgMpLX_GZ-E

Or alternatively pick up a detailed Flying Start Family Guide from our centre.

Enrolments start Term 1, 2027.

In South Australia, around 108 young people leave state care each year.

When care ends at 18, they face adulthood without the emotional and financial support most of us take for granted.

No parent to call in a crisis.

No one to share the burden if things fall apart.

Donate by 30 June to help provide the support they need – because these young people deserve better when they turn 18.

Your generosity has the power to change lives 💙

Thank you to City of Playford for recently supporting us through their Bingo With a Cause initiative 🎲

This monthly bingo event invites community members to swap bingo fees for donations of non-perishable food items, helping provide practical support to people and families in need across our community.

Their most recent session was dedicated to collecting donations for our Emergency Assistance services 💙

What an incredible day at Reconciliation in the West 2026 🖤💛❤️

It was wonderful to see the community come together once again to celebrate First Nations culture, connection, and reconciliation through inspiring music, performances, storytelling, activities, and a good yarn.

From start to finish, the day was filled with energy, learning, and meaningful moments that reminded us of the importance of walking together and continuing the journey toward reconciliation.

We are so proud to stand alongside our partner organisations Tauondi Aboriginal College, Life Without Barriers, and Uniting SA in delivering this special annual event, and we thank everyone who attended, participated, performed, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success.

Together, we continue to strengthen connections, listen, learn, and create a more inclusive future for all.

This morning, we were proud to attend the 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast, hosted by Reconciliation South Australia on Kaurna Yerta at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

As National Reconciliation Week begins, we join with others across the state in reflecting on this year’s theme: “All In” - a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility.

We really valued hearing from the speakers, experiencing the performances, and celebrating First Nations cultures, voices, and businesses alongside the wider community.

Thank you to Reconciliation South Australia for hosting such a meaningful and impactful event once again.
