Our 1,800 staff and 400 volunteers support around 50,000 people each year through a diverse range of programs and services including housing and homelessness, disability and mental health, aged care, foster care, emergency assistance, financial counselling and literacy, Aboriginal services, new arrivals, and children, youth and families.

Families from the Playford area came together this morning for a jam-packed event full of free activities, snacks, helpful resources, and plenty of play to celebrate 😊

Our Communities for Children Playford team got involved in the fun, giving kids free t-shirts to customise with colourful markers and First Nations–inspired stencils, and the little artists did not disappoint 🎨

Our Financial Wellbeing team was also on hand offering free resources and friendly support around financial counselling.

It was another fantastic reminder of how powerful community connection can be, and we loved being part of it ⭐

A big thank you to The Playford Early Childhood Alliance and all our fellow event partners for bringing this event to life, and to every family who came along to play, create, and connect 💙

Our Anglicarers were proud to be part of Reconciliation in the South 2026 today - a free, family-friendly celebration for reconciliation 😊

Originally planned for National Reconciliation Week, the event was postponed due to wet weather, but with the sun shining today, it was well worth the wait! ☀️

This year's theme, All In, called us to step off the sidelines and take action together. In the spirit of that, our Communities for Children team connected with the community through nature-inspired craft using native flora and clay, while our Thread Together van returned to share brand-new clothing with those who need it most 👕

Thank you to the City of Onkaparinga for hosting, and to everyone who stopped by to yarn, create, and connect 🖤💛❤️

For five-year-old Ayanti, AnglicareSA's HIPPY program made the transition to primary school a little easier 🎓

HIPPY is a free, two-year, home-based early learning program that supports parents to prepare their children for school through play-based activities and trained tutor support.

Ayanti was one of 25 children to graduate this year. Her parents, Archi and Manik, described the program as a "lifesaver" as their family settled into life in Australia.

Congratulations to our 2026 HIPPY Graduates! 🎓

This year, 25 children and their families celebrated a huge milestone, graduating from our HIPPY (Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters) program at a special ceremony held at Northern Sound System!

HIPPY is a free, two-year, home-based early learning program that supports parents to prepare their children for school 🏫

As part of the program, trained HIPPY tutors support parents in their community by building their parenting skills and introducing play-based learning activities with their children.

We are so proud of how far our HIPPY graduates and their families have come, and excited for the next chapter ahead! 😊

Our Foster Care team recently brought together foster and kinship families caring for First Nations children for a special two-night Cultural Camp 🏕️

With more than 60 participants each day, the camp was filled with cultural learning and connection – from a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, to ochre painting, boomerang throwing, and campfire storytelling 😊

Day two involved a bush medicine session and a Ngarrindjeri language session, followed by wood-fired pizzas and live music from the Lakinyeri Band 🎶

Most importantly, this camp helped First Nations children strengthen their connection to culture, identity, and community, while bringing together the families who support them.

A huge thank you to CMV Group for their generous sponsorship, and to all the families and employees who helped make it so special ✨

Earlier today, AnglicareSA's Reconciliation Ambassadors swapped the meeting room for a visit to the beautiful Yitpi Yartapuultiku cultural centre in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, known as the "Soul of Port Adelaide" in Kaurna language.

Guided by Cultural Ranger Willis, the group walked the land and learned the stories behind it, from traditional plant knowledge to the rich local history.

Ambassadors even got to sample flora like saltbush and native mint along the way 🌱

Our Reconciliation Ambassadors are a voluntary group of employees from all over AnglicareSA, dedicated to driving reconciliation efforts and embedding this important work into everything we do.

We are grateful for days like this that deepen our connection to Country and culture 🙏

Last Wednesday, our Communities for Children Playford team threw a silent disco where only the dancers could hear the music! 🎧

Kids and parents hit the dance floor, headphones on, grooving away in silence 🕺 Thank you to everyone who came along - we loved seeing the Playford community dance together!

Our Communities for Children programs are open to all families, with no referral required, for free 😊

Congratulations Maria! 🏆💙

Last week, our incredible foster carer Maria was named Foster Carer of the Year at the 2026 SA Child Protection and Family Support Awards, hosted by the Department for Child Protection SA 🎉

Nearly 20 years ago, Maria opened her heart and home to four-month-old Corey.

What began as fostering has become an extraordinary journey of love, resilience, and shared passion - the pair even went on to represent Australia together in speed stacking!

As Maria said: "I think every foster carer deserves an award." We couldn't agree more.

Congratulations Maria, and thank you for showing what's possible when one person says yes to changing a child's life 💙
