This National Reconciliation Week, the theme Bridging the Gap Between Now and Next invites us to reflect, learn, and look forward.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold deep knowledge about safety, care, and resilience—wisdom that has protected families and communities for generations. Their voices are essential as we work together to build a safer, more respectful future.

At SASS, we are committed to walking alongside First Nations peoples to create meaningful, lasting change—and a world free from sexual violence.

As Sexual Assault Awareness Month comes to a close, one message remains clear: Sexual violence is preventable.

This year’s theme, Together We Act, United We Change, has highlighted the power of collective action in creating safe, respectful workplaces free from harassment.

Throughout April, we’ve heard from Tasmanian businesses seeking guidance on their positive duty obligations and how to take meaningful steps toward prevention. By creating and building cultures of dignity and respect, we can drive real change—not just in policy, but in practice.

Stay connected, access valuable resources, and continue being part of the change.
