A wonderful opportunity for people living with MND, families, health professionals and service providers to come together, share knowledge and build connections within the community 💙

For one day, Tasmania's MND community, clinicians and service providers get direct access to specialists from Victoria's Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service (Calvary Health Care Bethlehem) and MND Victoria, alongside local medical and allied health clinicians, equipment suppliers and people with lived experience.

It's a rare chance to learn from and connect with people who understand MND deeply, without leaving the state. Health Professionals and service providers are invited to stay on for a more in-depth, interactive masterclass.

📅 Monday October 26th, everyone welcome from 9.30am (9am check-in)
📍 University of Tasmania, 17 Liverpool St, Hobart

💜Did you know that most overdoses are not intentional?

They are caused by people accidently taking too much medication or mixing medications with alcohol or other substances.

For people living with brain injury, memory difficulties, fatigue, confusion, or difficulties processing information, these factors can increase the risk of accidentally taking the wrong medication, taking too much medication, or mixing medication with alcohol or other substances.

🌟Helpful tips to avoid overdose:

✅Use a pill organiser or webster pack
✅Get information about your medication so you know what you are taking and any risks
✅Be honest with your doctor or pharmacist about your medication and if you drink alcohol or take other substances
✅If you think your medication isn't working, don't take extra- talk to your doctor or pharmacist first
✅Avoid mixing alcohol and medications, especially pain medications

This International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those lost and raise awareness about preventing overdose through information, support, and safer medication practices.

💜 If you have questions about medications, speak with your doctor, pharmacist, or support person.
