Green Oration

Green Oration On 23 March 1972 the world’s first green party, the United Tasmania Group (UTG), was created at a meeting in the Hobart Town Hall.

Thirty-nine years later international environmentalist David Suzuki gave the first Green Oration, held to commemorate the birth of the world's first green party in Hobart all those years ago.
