We’re delighted to welcome Tony McMullen, Karen Hampton and Michael Stretton, who’ll join host Kim Millar to discuss and explore how local government leaders can stay effective and relevant into the future.

Titled ‘Leadership that lasts: managing into the future’ and tying into the conference’s core theme of ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Today’, this panel will be a timely and enriching conversation – not one to miss.

➡️ Tony recently wrapped up a 30-year career in local government with Glenorchy City Council with deep knowledge in planning as a Registered Planner of the Planning Institute of Australia.

️➡️ Karen comes to us with a diverse background in local government, serving Cradle Coast Authority up to Kentish Council. She is also a fellow member, being with us for 22 years.

➡️ Michael has a keen interest in development and planning which lead to Director of Development Services at the City of Launceston. His career has now evolved into the CEO at the City of Hobart.

In addition to being our incredible President of Local Government Professionals Tasmania, Kristen is also Chief Executive Officer of West Tamar Council, leading a team of 120 while championing the growth and capability of our sector.

Her career spans health insurance, not-for-profit, and federal government, bringing a depth of experience to her leadership. Alongside her professional achievements, Kristen has long been a passionate advocate, contributing through voluntary and board positions across not-for-profit organisations and serving in key government advisory roles within the disability sector.

We’re fortunate to be guided by Kristen’s leadership, vision, and commitment to strengthening local government in Tasmania.
