It should not be up to food charities to feed Australians - our government needs to step up and do more to tackle price rises and provide relief. Oh - and condemn US imperialism that is the root cause of the current crisis.

About one in three people are accessing food relief services for the first time, according to a new report from Food charity OzHarvest.

The NDIS is far from perfect. But there's something particularly inhuman about the Labor Party pushing through changes that will see 160,000 people kicked off disability support in the same week they proudly announced an increase in military spending of $53 billion over 10 years.

No matter who is in power, there's never enough money for all the basic social supports working-class people depend on (along with disability support: healthcare, education, aged care etc). But there's somehow ALWAYS more than enough to spend on weapons and war.
