We are racked and stacked The Sydney University Regiment has just welcomed Module 3 course and Module 5 course of the Part Time Officer Continuum Program.

The Regiment is also running a Foundation instructor training course. This course is designed for the instructors, it ensures all instructors have the correct tools to deliver training. This also ensures that all staff have been calibrated to asses the trainees to a high standard.

They are straight into learning the qualities of becoming an Army Officer. The trainees have just completed Drill with the Company Sergeant Major done ✔️. Now, they are into classroom lessons to learn how to plan, command, and control platoon and troop activities.

The Regiment thanks all the University Regiments for preparing their Officer Cadets to a high standard. Let’s do this Team SUR.

Today, WO2 Jeremy Lowe from the Sydney University Regiment with Paddington-Woollahra RSL Sub-Branch and RSL NSW commemorates the 81st Anniversary of the Victory in the Pacific. For Australians, this signified the end of the Second World

WO2 Jeremy Lowe today attended two services for VP day. One being at Martin place Sydney and the second at Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway concord.

We pause to remember and respect the ANZACS who served their country for us, the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, the veterans who returned and were forever scarred, and the family, friends and mates who cared for them.

Lest we forget.🌺

🎖️ SUR Regimental Officers Dinner 2026 🎖️
On Friday 7 August, the Sydney University Regiment gathered at The Refectory for our annual Regimental Officers’ Dinner — a proud night of tradition, camaraderie and celebration.

The evening brought together past and current SUR officers and members, and SUR’s Regimental Council, including SUR’s Honorary Colonel General Hurley AC CVO DSC (Retd), to reflect on the Regiment's achievements, and, importantly, celebrate connection.

From the formalities of the Dinner to the warmth of shared stories across generations of service, it was a fitting continuation of a proud regimental tradition stretching back over a century.

Thank you to all who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable one. Here's to another great year for Sydney University Regiment - 126 years of service.

Today, members of the Sydney University Regiment came together for unit PT on the beach, combining a run and swim while embracing the spirit of R U OK? Day. 🏃‍♂️🌊

Following PT, members shared a coffee and a chat, taking the opportunity to discuss the importance of asking “Are you OK?” and looking out for one another within our command and across the Regiment.

R U OK? is about more than just asking the question — it’s about taking the time to genuinely listen, support each other, and stay connected. A simple conversation can make a real difference.

WO2 Jeremy Lowe from the Sydney University Regiment with RSL NSW participated in the City2Surf 2026.

What an incredible day at the 2026 City2Surf! More than 350 veterans with RSL NSW and family members ran, walked and wheeled the 14km course together, showcasing the strength, camaraderie and community spirit that define RSL NSW.

City2Surf is about more than crossing the finish line. It's an opportunity to connect through sport, support health and wellbeing, and strengthen the friendships that help keep our veteran community. Well done SUR team.

Commanding Officer’s Recall

Over the weekend, The Commanding Officer of The Sydney University Regiment conducted a Commander’s Recall, bringing together RHQ elements, all Officers Commanding, CSMs and Course Managers for a focused and productive weekend of professional development.

The weekend led by our Commanding Officer through a series of working groups, focused on strengthening our procedures and processes across the Regiment. A key focus was the continued development of our Instructor Development Program, along with a comprehensive review of our Standard Operating Procedures.

The weekend provided an excellent opportunity to share ideas, challenge existing processes and work collaboratively towards improving how we train and develop our people.

A very successful weekend, with strong engagement, great teamwork and a clear focus on delivering capability for our people and the Regiment. One team, one purpose.
