Welcome back to Term 3! We started the term by celebrating NAIDOC Week. This year’s theme, ‘50 Years Deadly’, provided our students with a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture. Students engaged in a range of activities, including literacy exercises centred on the book ‘My Country’ by Ezekial Kwaymullina, illustrated by Sally Morgan, and art activities based on the 2026 poster ‘Paralpi’ by Zaachariaha Fielding.

As we finish a busy Term 2, we want to share some photos from our recent Athletics Carnival. It was a wonderful day filled with a variety of races – running, hurdles, wheelchair, bean bag and of course, the much-anticipated parent race. It was fantastic to see so many of our families joining us to cheer on our students. Thank you to the amazing staff and student volunteers from Barker College for their facilities and supporting our students during the carnival!

We hope you all have a great holiday and we look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday 21st July

The athletics carnival is tomorrow at Barker Oval (entrance on College Cres). Please send students to school wearing running shoes and sunscreen with a full bottle of water. The carnival will start at 10:00am, we hope to see you there!

Last Tuesday we celebrated "Be a Learner" blue day with a science incursion and some fun experiments in the classroom. Students enjoyed an interactive show featuring amazing chemical reactions, explored ice painting and were fascinated by the vibrant colours appearing in their rainbow paper towel crafts.
