NSW SES volunteers across Greater Sydney were kept busy over the weekend as intense rain caused flash flooding. ⛈️
Supported by our partner agencies, crews responded to more than 1,511 incidents throughout Sydney, including 17 flood rescues. The busiest areas were Avalon Beach, St Ives, Wahroonga, Newport, Pymble and Turramurra.
The majority of incidents have been for fallen trees, water coming into properties via ceilings, overflowing drains and gutters, or by flash flood water entering homes. There was also damage to properties from fallen trees, broken skylights and roofs.
While the rain has subsided, scattered showers are expected to persist today and more storms are expected later this week.
