Santa has asked Hornsby Fire Station and Hornsby Police to help him find suitable landing sites in the Hornsby / Waitara High rise areas.

So on Friday the 19th of December At approximately 4pm Santa will be on Hornsby’s FireTruck with a Police es**rt checking out areas to safely land his sleigh!!

WATER ST PARK
WILLOW PARK
HOLMAN PARK APPROX 5PM

Today this little 9 week old fella got his head stuck between a concrete slab and a timber fence. Hornsby fire station got a call for help and were able to free him. He’s such a good boy! 🐶🐶

FRNSW is currently assisting Hornsby Council with an ecological burn at BERRY Park. The burn is scheduled to last approximately four hours and there is restricted speed limit on kuringgai Chase Road.

Today we were at Thornleigh attending a McDonalds staff family day and spreading fire safety messages to the families.

The most important of having a working smoke alarm in your home.

Come see the trucks and talk to the lovely Fire Fighters who will answer all the questions you may have about fire safety and prevention.

PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!!!! Recycle batteries correctly. Throwing batteries in the rubbish is not the correct way. Thornleigh CRC is the perfect place to put used batteries. This is becoming more common as people become more complacent.

It was very lucky no one was injured during this incident. Great work by the crew at Hornsby

With the unstable weather from Cyclone Alfred over the next few days it’s a timely reminder to check gutters and drains to ensure any heavy rain won’t flood your property.

We have been at this car park in Hornsby pumping out water to prevent further flooding and damage to the property. Faulty sump pump for car park has failed.

With the sun now shining and drying everything out Fire Rescue New South Wales attended over 253 incidents in the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai local government area at the Height of the Storm Activity,firetrucks from all over the Sydney Metropolitan area were deployed into Hornsby Ku-ring-gai area responding life threatening situations such as House fires ,gas leaks cause by fallen trees ,Live wires,People stuck in lifts due to blackouts ,Rail incidents,floodings and to assist the SES with non life threatening incidents.

Just a reminder if you see barrier tape and that’s the plastic tape that gets strung around trees,across roads or tied to letterboxes that means that there is a hazard there it’s not to play limbo often there is live wires that can be energised at any time.

Also for drivers,if an emergency vehicle is blocking part of the rd , please do not drive around it as it there for a reason and is providing safety for emergency services workers who are working on the road

Lets all be safe so we can all go home to our love ones
