πŸ’§ GOOD NEWS FOR OUR LAKES AHEAD OF SUMMER | Strong winter inflows have boosted water storages across the Grampians, Wimmera and Mallee, putting GWMWater in a much stronger position heading into the warmer months.

Recent rainfall and catchment flows have added around 102 gigalitres of water to the system over the past three months, helping secure supplies for all 14 GWMWater-supplied recreational lakes this summer.

Green Lake at Horsham has more than doubled in volume since May, while Lake Bellfield is now above 80 per cent full and Lake Wartook is in its strongest position in almost two years.

GWMWater has also committed water from its own entitlements to support recreational lakes across the region, ensuring communities can continue to enjoy these important local destinations.

While conditions can still change, our focus remains on capturing and storing as much water as possible now to strengthen water security for the future.
