Things are about to get a little chilly at Horsley Park! 🥶

Some of our brave (or slightly crazy) firefighters are swapping fire for ice and taking on the Big Freeze Challenge to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). 💙

🔥 This afternoon, Horsley Park Brigade with support from multiple brigades from NSW Rural Fire Service - Cumberland/Macarthur District responded to a reported structure fire.

On arrival, crews found an elevated shipping container well alight.

🎄It seems Christmas came a little early this year, with crews discovering the container was filled with Christmas decorations!

🎅🏼Crews worked quickly to contain the fire to the shipping container and extinguish the blaze, preventing any further spread.

🚨Aus Alert Testing Today - 2pm AEST

Today, Monday 27 July, your mobile devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.
The test times across NSW are.
2:00 pm AEST
1:30 pm ACST (Broken Hill NSW)

The message will vibrate and include a loud, siren-like sound that lasts about 10 seconds.
If this could disrupt you or cause you or a loved one to feel unsafe, please turn off your mobile devices or switch them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time in your location, and leave them off for at least one hour.
As this is just a test, you don’t need to do anything, but in an actual disaster you should follow the alert instructions to keep yourself and others safe.

🚒 Big congratulations to our seven Firefighters who successfully passed their assessment last night! 👏

After months of training, dedication and hard work, they’re now cleared to respond on our fire appliances and serve the Horsley Park community and abroad.

Overnight crews attended a serious accident on Mamre Road, Kemps Creek.

The road remains closed, please use alternate routes on your morning commute and check Live Traffic NSW.

⚠️ Mamre Road is closed in both directions at Kemps Creek between Elizabeth Drive and Bakers Lane due to a serious two car crash.

🔁 Plan your journey and use an alternative route. Ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time.
