π₯ PERMITS TO BURN π₯
π Where: Howard Springs Volunteer Fire Brigade Station
β° When: Saturday, 9amβ12am
To get your permit:
β’ Attend the Station in person
β’ Bring photo ID with your current address
Please remember: strict conditions apply and infringements will be issued for non-compliant burns.
Conditions for burn permits include:
π₯ Fires must contain only green waste material
π₯ The land immediately around and above the burn pile must be cleared of all flammable material to a four-metre distance
π₯ Firebreaks must be installed and are maintained on the property
π₯ Water is readily available to extinguish the fire
π₯ The fire must not cause air pollution or excessive smoke
π₯ A copy of your permit must be readily available
π₯ If the fire weather forecast issued by the Bureau of Meteorology is high, extreme or catastrophic, or if a fire ban has been imposed, no fire shall be lit
π₯ The permit holder must notify all surrounding residents 24 hours before the intended burn date
π₯ The permit holder must notify the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) on 8922 1555 immediately before lighting the fire
π₯ Each burn should be extinguished within 12 hours, and if more time is required, the permit holder must notify the JESCC.
