Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from built environment professionals to join the Hunters Hill Design Excellence Review Panel.

We are inviting experts in architecture, urban design, landscape design, heritage and sustainability to apply for inclusion in the Panel, which will provide independent, expert and impartial advice on the design quality of selected development applications and planning proposals.

This initiative supports Council's recently adopted Design Excellence Policy, helping to deliver design excellence in certain types of new developments across the Hunters Hill municipality.

Applications close on Sunday 13 September 2026.

The Sydney Marathon is on this weekend. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️

Please note there will be increased traffic on Gladesville Bridge as it has been listed as an alternative route while the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Cahill Expressway and Western Distributor are closed. Please follow Live Traffic NSW TCS Sydney Marathon or go to tcssydneymarathon.com for the latest information.

Significant city-wide closures will be in place Sunday 30th August while 40,000 people take part in the TCS Sydney Marathon. 💪

What you need to know:

🏅 Avoid non-essential travel. Travel across the city will be very limited with lengthy detours in place.
🏅 The Sydney Harbour Bridge will be CLOSED from 3am to 11am. The Harbour Tunnel remains open, but delays expected.
🏅 Major roads across North Sydney, Sydney CBD and Kingsford will be CLOSED between 2am and 4:30pm. Expect delays on the Eastern Distributor.
🏅 Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect from 12:01am, vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies.
🏅 Buses and light rail services will be significantly impacted by road closures.
🏅The Cross City Tunnel will be toll-free 5am-4:30pm.

Please be aware that Council meetings will now be streamed live on Council's website, and not on our YouTube channel. This will provide a higher-quality viewing experience for residents. To clarify, the livestream experience will not be affected in any other way. Anyone is welcome to address Council on a matter listed on a meeting agenda by applying on Council's website.

The Live streaming can be accessed on the Agendas and Meetings page on Council's website, on the day of the meeting.

Following each meeting, recordings will also be accessible on the same webpage, and will continue to be available on Council's YouTube channel.

The Hunters Hill Historical Society is presenting Out of the Attic: A Doll Exhibition at the Hunters Hill Museum.

The exhibition showcases more than 40 dolls from across different eras and styles, including celluloid and porcelain dolls, as well as handmade dolls created by one of the Society’s volunteers, Dorothy Cubban.

The exhibition is open until mid-September on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10am-12pm.

The Hunters Hill RSL Sub-Branch invites the community to attend the Vietnam Veterans Day Service on Tuesday 18 August 2026 at 11am.

The service provides an opportunity to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of the almost 60,000 Australians who served during Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War, and to remember those who lost their lives.

The service will be held at the Hunters Hill RSL Sub-Branch Memorial Wall, 56 Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill.

Community members are warmly invited to attend. Morning tea will be served in the Memorial Hall following the service.

The Hunters Hill Quilt Show is back tomorrow, held at Hunters Hill Town Hall from 14-16 August, open daily from 10am to 4pm.

The exhibition will feature approximately 60 quilts, along with a café, handmade items for sale, quilt raffles and a stall by local fabric retailer Material Obsessions.

Entry is $8, with proceeds supporting the group's charitable quilting projects and a donation to the Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre.

Quilt Show Co-ordinator Grace Widders is looking forward to welcoming everyone.
