Get ready to peek inside a scientist’s bag and be amazed!
Have you ever wondered what scientists actually take with them when they head out into the field? In this National Science Week event, you’ll meet real scientists working in some of Australia’s most incredible places—from the icy landscapes of Antarctica to the rivers of Kakadu and the Ningaloo Reef.
In this event, scientists from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water including the AAP’s very own Melanie Borup will share stories about where they work, what they do every day, and why their research matters for protecting our environment. Then comes the best part: a “show and tell” where they reveal what’s inside their bag! You might see strange tools, surprising gadgets, or mystery items that help them study animals, plants, water, and ecosystems.
This event is perfect for curious minds who love asking questions, solving mysteries, and exploring the world. You might even start to imagine yourself as a future scientist, heading out into the field with your own bag full of amazing tools and ideas!
