'Sometimes I get offered a job but I can't leave the house, I need to sit here and look at the water,' he laughs.

In this our final story of the 'Harmonies of the Huon' series, meet Cygnet-based musician and producer, Jethro Pickett. Living in one of the most unique homes in the Huon, Jethro and his father have transformed a 1913 apple picking shed that once served as a ferry terminal in the days when river traffic moved goods and human cargo around the valley and further afield. With water literally lapping around and underneath you, this wonderfully creative environment has helped drive Jethro's passion for music where he now travels anywhere around Australian and overseas, playing his own music and supporting local musicians such as Claire Anne Taylor and Dan Rawlings among others, doing what he loves.

'My Dad and I came to the 'Next Door Bar' in Franklin looking for a property and we soon picked up on the Huon vibe,' he says. 'He was a builder and he helped design my new house in the valley but sadly he recently passed away. Dad was a central figure in my life because he taught me to love music.'

Introducing Dan Rawlings in our twelfth story as part of the 'Harmonies of the Huon' series. Being immersed in and with musical influences from a young age, Dan moved from Frankston, Victoria to the Huon Valley where his love and passion for conservation, nature and wilderness, and sustainability are a match made in heaven, inspiring his creativity and expression to grow and expand.

'It's a way of getting over something,' she says. 'Every time I play a song, the problem diminishes a little.'

A familiar face at many a Huon Valley festival and live performance venue in the Huon. Meet Teresa Dixon in this our eleventh story as part of the Creative Huon series - 'Harmonies of the Huon'.

Qualified teacher, youth worker and part time musician, Teresa veils from Victoria originally where she lived and played live music around Melbourne and Phillip Island before moving to the Huon Valley just four years ago. Supporting large touring acts as a solo performer and band member, Teresa's songs are very personal, using the power of music to help her through mental health challenges to find a positive place and direction.

As we recover from one of the most incredible weekends we are likely to ever witness in our lifetimes, it is only poignant that we too share some of those obligatory pics of our stunning dancing lady - the Aurora Australis.

Local photographer Toby Schrapel Freelance Photography was extremely fortunate to have exclusive access to Tahune Adventures Tasmania, where he experienced a view like no other. Check out these incredible images taken from our southern forests, overlooking the Huon and Picton Rivers, and southerly views from off the AirWalk cantilever!

Mother nature - no words can describe your power, beauty and magic. Put simply, we are in awe! πŸ€©πŸ’«βœ¨

'Doors are opening for me and I'm getting close to making a living from music,' she says. 'This year I'm taking my band and family on the road for a 35-date national tour that includes many music festivals.'

Introducing Claire Anne Taylor in our tenth short story of the series 'Harmonies of the Huon'. Growing up in a musical family in Milabena near Wynyard in Tasmania's northwest, Claire was fortunate to have many a role model to inspire and refine her natural musical talents. However, her big break came when she entered the Byron Bay busking competition as part of the Byron Bay Blues Festival, winning the competition, recording opportunities and the chance to tour the country before moving back to Tasmania, establishing a humble base right here in the Huon Valley.

Introducing River Bigby in this our ninth story in the Creative Huon series 'Harmonies of the Huon'. River's musical journey began as a 14-year-old playing in a hardcore metal group with mates in southwest Queensland. A nomadic lifestyle then followed over several years, where his travels eventually led him to Tasmania where his music now reflects his life journey and experiences.
