🚗💛 SOCK Week 2026 is Here! 💛🚗

The Hyden Community Resource Centre is proud to be taking part in SOCK Week (Save Our Country Kids) from 29 June – 3 July 2026.

SOCK Week is all about raising awareness of road safety in regional communities and encouraging everyone to make safer choices on our roads. Throughout the week we'll be hosting a range of activities for our community to get involved in!

🐑🐐 Sheep and Goat Electronic Identification (eID) Workshop🐑🐐

Join us at the Hyden Community Resource Centre for an informative workshop designed to help producers understand the upcoming eID requirements and how to use the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) when uploading eID tags.

This workshop will cover:
• eID tagging requirements and timelines
• Responsibilities for recording livestock movements
• A live scanning wand demonstration
• Guidance on uploading movements to NLIS
• Q&A support session following the presentation

📅 Date: Thursday 30 July 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm, followed by Q&A

💛 Hyden’s Biggest Afternoon Tea 💛

On Thursday 21st May, our community came together for the Hyden CRC Cancer Council’s Biggest Afternoon Tea 2026. A wonderful afternoon filled with delicious food, laughter, and community spirit, all for an important cause.

A highlight of the day was the Great Hyden Bake Off: Scone Edition 2026, with 9 amazing entries featuring both sweet and savoury creations. Congratulations to Pam Williamson, our 2026 Bake Off Champion, and a special shoutout to Curtis Utley, the only primary school student to enter this year!

Thank you to our judges Bruce Wright, Marina Smith, and Wendy Whitwell, everyone who entered, volunteered, and attended the event.
