Ilford Running Stream Crudine Brigade held their monthly training night on Wednesday at the Running Stream shed. There was a good roll up of members who went over the trucks and pumping. After training members enjoyed a bbq and chat together

Ilford Running Stream Crudine Brigade held their monthly training on Wednesday 17-4-2024 at Ilford shed.Big thanks to Mudgee headquarters Brigade who brought down Mudgee Pumper and Mudgee 6 to show our members. We were shown over the trucks and then participated in pumping exercises including Ilford 1.Thanks to all for coming.

It is with great saddness that we must announce the passing of long serving and active member of Ilford Running Stream Crudine Brigade Peter Richards.
Peter Lawrence Richards
Passed away peacefully on29th March 2023 at Bathurst Hospital.Late of Ilford.Beloved husband of Sue.Much loved father and father in law of Sean&Lindsay ,Jess and Scott.Adored Poppy Pete to Leo and Ella.Dear brother to Anne &Mark.Aged 72.”Always in our hearts “
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of Peter’s life,which will be held at Ilford Hall on Thursday 6th April at 2-00pm.

Good Evening Cudgegong - as the weekend as the weekend comes to a close please see your Sunday update below.
This morning crews were responded to a grass fire on Tinja Road Eurunderee. Thanks to the hard work of ground crews and the support of aircraft the fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
Both our air and ground crews are continuing to patrol the Alpha fireground to detect and manage hotspots. The heat is expected to remain a challenge for fire fighters over the next few days. 'The Bureau of Meteorology reports for tomorrow: Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers on and east of the ranges at night. Near zero chance of rain elsewhere. Light winds becoming northeast to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then tending easterly 25 to 40 km/h in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 13 and 18 with daytime temperatures reaching 23 to 34.'
A reminder that there are several community meetings scheduled across Monday and Tuesday:
- 11am – 20 March - Hill End RFS, Cnr Moores Lane and High Street
- 11am – 20 March - Pyramul Hall, Pyramul
- 2pm - 20 March - Hargraves RFS, Lindsay Street
- 11am – 21 March - Illford Hall, Illford
These meetings will also be attended by the NSW Reconstruction Authority, Local Land Services and other agencies to provide support information on next steps into the future.

The Alpha Road fire continues to burn north of Hill End . As weather conditions allow, firefighters will be conducting backburning which will see an increase in smoke in the area.

Firefighters and aircraft are working in difficult conditions, trying to slow the spread of the Alpha Road fire near Hill End.

Strong winds are pushing the fire further towards the east this afternoon. The fire has crossed Sallys Flat Road, and this image shows spot fires starting ahead of the main fire front.

Fire activity has also intensified on the northern side of the fire around Doughertys Junction Road.

The winds are expected to continue throughout the night.

At 5:15pm Wednesday 8 March, the fire has burnt 9000 hectares and is at Emergency Warning level.

Three community meetings will be held tomorrow, 9 March, to provide local residents with information on the Alpha Rd fire.

NSW RFS - Ilford/Running Stream Brigade had a busy weekend. Friday afternoon there was a single vehicle MVA on Cherry Tree Hill Castlereagh Hwy. On Sunday afternoon @16-50hrs the Brigade attended a 2 vehicle MVA south of Ilford on the Castlereagh Hwy. Also attending were NSW Ambulance NSW Police Force and Rylstone & Kandos Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW The driver of one vehicle was trapped. After being released by the VRA and treated by ambulance officers they were flown to hospital by helicopter. 2 other people were conveyed to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.A timely reminder to drive carefully, especially in the wet conditions NSW RFS - Cudgegong District Rylstone Kandos Vra 2MG Mudgee 2LT RealFM 91.3
