Ilford Public School

Ilford Public School Ilford Public School was established in 1868 and enjoys a rich history. Ilford Public School is located 56 km from Mudgee and 70 km from Lithgow.

Today, we focus on inclusive quality teaching & learning, integrating technology to lessons and ensuring the positive wellbeing of staff and students. Ilford Public School is an integral part of a very active rural community that resides in the surrounding areas of Running Stream, Crudine, Mount Vincent and Ilford. The school enjoys a strong relationship with its parent body and various community

and district organisations. The school's mission statement was developed in 1995 by the School Council and states that: In a caring, supportive environment we provide students with educational experiences founded on basic skills. We will challenge each child to develop to the best of their ability. We will endeavour to empower each student to take responsibility for their learning because learning is a lifelong process. We will endeavour to provide learning experiences that will stimulate and instil a desire to learn, to inquire and to create. Our work to achieve our aims will be characterised by team work through a collaborative approach involving parents, staff, pupils and community. A strong orientation program for Kindergarten and new students provides an easy transition into school routines.

A great opportunity for students during the July school holidays.

🎨🚂 School Holiday Fun | Art Workshops 🚂🎨

Calling all creative students!

Local Newcastle artists Ellie and Pete will be hosting a free hands on art workshop at the Kandos Scout Hall during the school holidays as part of preparations for the upcoming Cementa Festival.

Students will have the opportunity to design and build their own human powered rail cart models using recycled and locally sourced materials while learning new creative and practical skills along the way.

📅 Wednesday 8 July & Thursday 9 July
⏰ 9:00am – 12:00pm
📍 Kandos Scout Hall
🍎 Materials and some snacks provided

Participants will explore questions such as:
🚂 What could a human powered rail cart transport?
🌱 Could it carry seeds, water, plants, soil or stories?
♻️ How can recycled materials be transformed into something new and imaginative?

The ideas and models created during the workshop will help inspire the design of a full size rail cart that will be built for the Cementa Festival in September.

Places are limited. To register, visit:
