Mary Valley State College Established in 1857, Mary Valley State College offers coeducational schooling from prep to year 10. The current enrolment is approximately 150 students.

We are very proud of our staff, students and parents, and take great pride in working alongside our supportive local community of Imbil. Mary Valley State College – a co-ed P-10 state school with spacious grounds and excellent facilities, in the country hamlet of Imbil. 🎶 Lunchtime Concert Alert! 🎶

Today our Admin team was treated to a special performance by our Beginning Band students!

These talented musicians are just starting their instrumental journey and taking their first steps towards becoming part of the Mary Valley Concert Band. Learning an instrument takes dedication, patience and plenty of practice, and we are so proud of the progress they have already made.

A big congratulations to our Beginning Band students for sharing their music with us today – we loved every minute of it! 🎺🎷🥁🎵

A reminder that our Whole School Athletics Carnival is on tomorrow at the Mary Valley State College oval!

☕ Parents - good news! A coffee van will be on site throughout the day serving coffee and some treats!

🌭 A sausage sizzle meal deal will also be available for students and visitors for just $5. No pre-order required!

🍣 Pre-ordered sushi will be ready for collection on the day.

🔧 Playground Update 🔧

Our playground upgrade works are progressing well! To allow the final stages of maintenance and improvements to be completed safely, both the Primary Playground and Prep Playground will be closed on Friday (19th June) this week.

We appreciate everyone's patience while these important upgrades are completed and look forward to reopening the refreshed play spaces for our students to enjoy.

Our Whole School Athletics Carnival is happening this Thursday 18 June at the Mary Valley State College Oval! 🎉

🍣 Don't forget! Sushi orders close tomorrow (Tuesday). If you haven't ordered yet, simply send us a reply email with your child's order details and we'll organise the rest.

🌭 There will also be a sausage sizzle meal deal available on the day, and ☕ a coffee van onsite with coffee, milkshakes, cold drinks and a selection of snacks.

📢 IMPORTANT UNIFORM UPDATE 📢

From now on, all uniform sales will be managed by our P&C Uniform Shop rather than through the school office. This change will help keep the process simple and streamlined.

A Uniform Shop will be held at the school every month.

The school office can still assist with pre-orders and payments, with the P&C coordinating collection and delivery.

We know that purchasing uniforms can sometimes be challenging for families. If you need support, we encourage you to:
💙 Check out our second-hand uniform options, available during Uniform Shop hours.
💙 Ask in our school community Facebook group if other families have uniforms available to sell or pass on.
💙 Contact the school office to discuss any support that may be available.

If you have good quality uniforms your family no longer needs, we would greatly appreciate donations to the second-hand uniform pool, or you may wish to list them for sale in the P&C Facebook group to help other families.

Our next Uniform Shop will be held on Monday 22 June, from 8:00am to 8:45am, outside the uniform cupboards near Administration.

🌟 PBL Focus for the Fortnight 🌟

This fortnight, our school-wide Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is:

“We are respectful when we work together, help others and listen to their ideas.”

Working respectfully with others is an important life skill that helps build positive relationships, teamwork and a supportive school community. Over the next two weeks, students will be learning and practising ways to show respect when working with their peers by:

💬 Taking turns to share ideas
🌟 Using kind and encouraging words
🙋 Offering help when needed
🌏 Respecting different opinions and perspectives
🎯 Working together to achieve shared goals

Families can support this learning at home by encouraging conversations where everyone gets a chance to speak, modelling active listening and talking about the importance of kindness, teamwork and respect.

Some of our Mary Valley families may already recognise a familiar face around the school office! We’re excited to welcome Ms Evelyn to the MVSC Administration Team.

Ms Evelyn will be working with us two days a week and is looking forward to getting to know our students, families and wider school community. If you see her around, be sure to say hello and help make her feel welcome! 💙

🦎🐍 What an amazing wildlife experience for our students!

On Friday 29 May, we welcomed Wildlife HQ to Mary Valley State College, where students from Prep to Year 4 had the opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of fascinating Australian animals.

As part of their English learning this term, students have been exploring informative texts and learning how facts, vocabulary and visuals help us understand the world around us. Wildlife HQ brought this learning to life, sharing interesting facts about animal habitats, diets, features and behaviours while giving students the chance to observe these incredible creatures up close.

A huge thank you to Wildlife HQ for delivering such an engaging and educational experience. Our students loved every minute of it! 💚🐾

The chaplaincy service provides valuable support, care and encouragement to our students and school community, and every donation helps make a difference.
