On Wednesday the 1st of April our Logistics Team spent the day, not trying to fool anybody, rehearsing our cache deployment in our annual Load Exercise.
In attendance were members from 3 different sections of our Defence Force, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, QANTAS, Tetra Tech, Queensland Fire Department (AUS01),NSW Police, Ambulance NSW, FRNSW Water Rescue, FRNSW Aviation, FRNSW Natural Disaster and Humanitarian team, FRNSW Fleet Operations as well as Station Based AUS02 logistics personnel.
Key outcomes from the exercise were maintaining a high standard of cache deployability in both the physical packing and importantly the documentation that goes with it. We spent time looking at incorporating extra machinery into the cache and how that may fit into the designated aircraft platforms available to the team. Critical discussions also took place focusing on Dangerous Goods compliance for our cargo and ensuring that we comply with the regulatory authorities and gain the relevant exceptions where needed and compliance to those conditions.
The opportunity to have all of our key stakeholders in one location to witness and then discuss our cache deployment process made the day a huge success before the first conversation took place. The fact that positive discussions followed leaves us as AUS02 more than ready to deploy wherever we are needed.
