What a weekend for Tumbledown Dick Rural Fire Brigade last weekend! 🚒🔥
On Saturday, we joined our friends at Beacon Hill Rural Fire Brigade for a visit to the Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting service at Sydney Airport - a fascinating look at a very different side of firefighting. We came away with huge respect for the ARFF team and maybe a little envy over those water cannons!
Sunday was a quieter wet duty day - cleaning the station and checking equipment on the trucks. The unglamorous work that keeps us ready when it matters most.
And Monday evening was a highlight of the year. We welcomed Mona Vale Girl Guides to the station for a hands-on evening learning about bush fire preparation and firefighting skills. Seven of our incredible female volunteer firefighters stepped up to show these young women that the RFS is a place for everyone. Watching those girls light up was something special. 🌟
Thank you to everyone who gives their time to make moments like these possible.
