These are offered up to Tassie veterans for $50 each instead of $150 each.

Tickets are, transferable only through ticketmaster (you'll need the app) so Run, don't Walk to snap these up.

Legal Monkey Wrench stuff, this is not a raffle or TVA Waiting for a (bidding) War, these are private sale but offered to veterans first.

Tickets do not include transport, whether the Long Road to Ruin aka Midlands Highway, Learning to Fly from interstate, Wheels or a White Limo. We're not Breaking Out accommodation either, just the tickets.

A heads up for those who haven't yet enjoyed time out The Veterans Retreat and a gentle nudge for those current Tasmanian Veterans Association members who haven't finalised 2026 renewals yet.

100% volunteer organisation focussed on veteran and family wellbeing through short stay accommodation at Lake Sorrell in the Central Highlands.

TVA offers the OG Retreat, a modern four bedroom self contained residence capable of sleeping 8 -11 and the newly launched Wellbeing Unit, an equally modern two bedroom self contained residence capable of sleeping max of 4.

As you may be aware, the recent demand for accommodation at the Tasmanian Veterans Association Tasmanian Veterans Retreat is unprecedented.

We are effectively full booked up until November and running a cancellation list.

As a result, and to maintain fair access for everyone, TVA cannot accept unpaid bookings between 01 Dec and 31 Mar 2025.

We will always try to reschedule a booking, if possible, within 7 days of check in and we are happy to refund bookings with 14 days plus notice.

Great news and only 35min drive from the Retreat
Tasmanian Veterans Association

Great news! A new Recycle Rewards collection point has opened in the Central Highlands, next to the Bothwell Garage at 16 Patrick Street. It's open daily from 8 am to 5 pm.

Since its launch last Thursday, thousands of eligible drink containers have been recycled, with over 5,000 processed in Bothwell on Sunday alone.

Recycle Rewards is Tasmania’s container refund scheme, which is an initiative of the Tasmanian Government. Most 150 ml to 3 L drink containers will be eligible for a 10 cent refund, as long as they’re in good condition (uncrushed, empty, and with the barcode intact). This includes:

• Aluminum cans
• Plastic bottles
• Glass bottles
• Cartons (under 1 L)
• Steel bottles/cans

Look for the 10c mark as a general guide.

You can receive your refund as a voucher, cash deposit, or donation to a charity. Central Highlands charities and community organisations can also sign up to receive donations directly from supporters. For more information, visit www.recyclerewards.com.au

Tasmanian Veterans Association Foundation Membership closes on 31 Mar 2025 and will not be offered again!

At the speed of a thousand startled gazelles, get your application and fees paid right now!

Gold, Silver, Bronze and Affiliate membership will be offered throughout the year but there is no provision for pro rata benefits.

TVA is not an ESO, we are entirely focussed on providing veterans, their families and their friends, wellbeing and wellness opportunities through The Veterans Retreat holiday accommodation.

CLOSES 31/03/2025: Foundation $1000, 10 years membership, two nights free, able to book 6 mths in advance.

Gold $100, 1 year membership, able to book 4mths in advance.

Silver $50, 1 year membership, able to book 2mths in advance.

Veterans can still book the Retreats without being a financial member but can only book 4 weeks in advance, are subject to price variations and may need to pay significant cleaning bond.

For Tasmanian Veterans registered with the Veteran Wellbeing Voucher Program, you can use the voucher for annual membership :)

The Veterans Retreat and Tasmanian Veterans Association need your assistance, please!

22-25 August Working Bee.

We are conducting a four day working bee 22-25 August in preparation for the busy spring and summer booking seasons.

We have a list of tasks, both inside and out, and we'll provide basic tools, machinery and equipment but we really need willing volunteers to assist us.

If you have stayed at The Retreat, you know the level of effort that VRMC and now TVA Committee members put in to upgrading and maintaining the facility to be a safe, comfortable and trauma informed space for Veterans, their families and friends.

If you can give us a few hours or a few days, the force multiplying effect is enormous and it's a great opportunity to give your feedback and input into future projects.

Regardless of ability or skill, your attendance and ongoing support will be hugely appreciated.
